The Eucalyptus plant (cinerea) with its fragrant properties and coin-shaped foliage makes a wonderful addition to your indoor environment, especially in the bedroom and bathroom.

It is very attractive with silvery blue-green aromatic leaves which give off the aroma of menthol. This cooling, refreshing minty fragrance soothes the respiratory tract gently opening your nasal passages and aids in breathing.

The plant originated in Australia and is also called the argyle-apple or the silver dollar tree. Although this fast-growing tree can get to heights of 75 to 150 feet outdoors, properly pruning it when young to allows it to be trained to be grown as an indoor plant. The plant has tiny, white flowers that grow in clusters measuring up one inch.

This tree can be grown in a container and maintained as a shrub on your patio. This plant likes to be set outside in summer as it likes heat; however, you must remember to bring it back indoors before the first autumn frost falls.

Eucalyptus Plant Care

You can have this amazing trending Eucalyptus plant in your home to add color and freshness. It a low maintenance plants that likes heat and lots of sunlight.

  • Plant it in well-drained potting soil. 
  • Provide your plant at least six hours of sunlight per day.
  • Apply a slow-release fertilizer once a month.
  • Water plant thoroughly to avoid wilting.

In order for you to provide the best lighting,  place plant in front of a south facing window.  Make sure your fertilizer it is low phosphorous as Eucalyptus does not handle phosphorous well.  Be sure to water when the top layer (1 inch down) of soil is dry, then drain off the excess and never allow plant to sit in water because this will cause root rot.
